Stonewall Heritage Society Conducting Search for Old Quilts
Wednesday, April 7, 2010 • Posted April 6, 2010

The Stonewall Heritage Society is conducting a search for old quilts (made prior to 1950) on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 10:00am until 4:00pm at the Peach Country RV Park’s Recreation hall in Stonewall. The park is located at 14781 US Hwy. 290 E. $50 will be award to the oldest and best-preserved quilt found during this search.

Take time to look for quilts your family made! Contact your older relatives to see if they have quilts they would like documented, find out what is known about the quilt, and bring them to this event. Many quilts made by our ancestors or friends were not signed so it is important to write down the oral history associated with these quilts. Volunteers will write down this history, give you a copy of the form for you to take home with you, and take a photograph of each quilt brought in.

Contact the Stonewall Heritage Society at 512-740-0239 if you have any questions.
