Take the PEC Earth Day Pledge to Conserve Electricity
PEC Press Release
Wednesday, April 7, 2010 • Posted April 6, 2010

Pedernales Electric encourages members and employees to take its Earth Day Pledge to conserve electricity and make environmentally friendly choices. In taking the pledge, members and employees promise to do all they can to reduce their electric use on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22. Reducing electric use can help conserve natural resources, reduce pollution and save money.

“PEC has several ongoing efforts to promote environmental responsibility, conservation activities and the use of renewable technologies among members and employees,” PEC Assistant General Manager Jeanell Davis said. “Our Earth Day Pledge is another great opportunity for the PEC community to exercise good conservation habits. Through the pledge, we hope to engage the membership while giving them the information, tools and resources they need to live greener lifestyles.”

Members are invited to take the pledge by visiting, calling 1-888-554-4732 or stopping by any local PEC office. To learn how much electricity they use daily, members should go online to check PEC’s MyUse Energy Analyzer. Members then can look at conservation tips to consider how much electricity they could save by making small changes in their homes. PEC recommends that members taking the pledge log in to MyUse after Earth Day to see the results of their efforts.
