Dear Citizens of Blanco:

I have only been a permanent resident here in Blanco for 2 years. I have come to know many and have shared many parts of their lives and lifestyles.

In my search for developing a small business, there has been a noticeable common “pet peeve”. Everyone’s PEC bills are ridiculously high. Whether it’s been residential or commercial, they have been too expensive! No one seems to understand the delivery charge, the computer readings, and when questioned, they seem to have an “out” for the charges incurred. Is there any way we can protest these high bills?

It’s seems very difficult to run a small business, when between a home (only for one person) and a shop which is basic electricity, costs one $700-800 monthly. I understand this is a coop, but it is the only option we have. Do they have the right to charge whatever they want? These are tough economic times for most people. Do we really have to go broke just to have electricity? Guess we could just apply for financial aid. Is that what we really want?

Is there anyone who can furnish some advice or do we just need to protest as a community “coop”?

Signed,

T.Schroeder

Blanco, TX
