Trinity Lutheran Church, Stonewall, Women of the Word will host their annual one-day Spring Retreat on Saturday, April 24, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All local area church women are invited to attend. This year’s theme is “Serving God Through Orphan Care.”

WOW Coordinator, Lorraine Zensen, reports Trinity, in conjunction with Buckner International and Soles4Souls, has embarked on an orphan care ministry with the collection of gently used shoes and new socks. To date, more than 200 pairs of shoes have been collected and are being made ready for shipment to Soles4Souls.

This year’s retreat will start with a Continental Breakfast from 9:00-9:30 a.m. and will be followed by worship, praise music, and guest speakers. Jeremy and Cheryl Young, representing Operation Orphans from Mason, Texas, will be the keynote speakers. Sandra Dieke will share stories about her mission work with orphans in Third World countries as well.

A free-will offering Buffet Lunch will be provided. The proceeds of the offering will be donated to Soles4Souls. For more information or to make a reservation, call the church office at 830-644-2479 Tuesday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00am to 3:00pm.
