A Kaleidoscope of Creativity at BMS TAG+ Open House
Wednesday, April 21, 2010 • Posted April 20, 2010

Blanco Middle School hosted their annual Talented and Gifted Open House Thursday evening, April 15. The cafeteria was packed with proud parents and fabulous independent study products by students who selected a topic that they wanted to explore, research and create.

There was an architectural design with a “future” model coffee house that showed planning, dedication, and talent by seventh grade student, Dub Albrecht. A very funny original sixth grade play entitled, Who Put the Tack in the Teacher’s Chair? kept the audience in stitches! Handmade crosses, jewelry, headbands, and candles graced the tables. Drew Ritter and John Adams built a large plexiglass portable greenhouse that used math skills and step-by-step complex thinking procedures. There were original myths, poetry, children’s books with beautiful illustrations, and so much more. If you want to see “Genius in Action,” try to attend next year’s TAG+ Open House.
