Delta Roy Mays passed away on April 24, 2010 at the age of 88. He was born March 29, 1922, in Blackwell, Texas, to Ed and Alma Mays. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene Moore Mays, his sister, Catherine Mays, and step-sister, Brookie Petty. He is survived by his nephew, Amil M Baker, Jr. and wife Carole of Blanco, his great-niece, Cheryl Baker Rickman, her husband Derrick, and their three children, Jacob, Joshua, and Cassie of Atkins, Texas, and his great-nephew, Chris Baker of Austin.

Roy resided in El Paso, Texas, for over fifty years where he worked for El Paso Electric. A veteran of WWII, he served in Germany with the 311th Infantry 78th Division as a 81mm mortar gunner.

Roy moved to Blanco, Texas, after the death of his wife, to be with Amil and Carole Baker. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 28, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Crofts Funeral Home, Blanco, Texas. Burial will be in El Paso, Texas, at the Restlawn Cemetery.
