I am so saddened by the loss of Trey Noah. I didn’t know him that well, but I did know his mother and aunt. And you couldn’t ask for better people. And it hit me hard just thinking something like this happened in our community! He came from a good, loving, caring family. When and how did we fail this family?
Looking back the last few months, who would of ever thought that a bank in Blanco County would of ever got broken into, and hear of all the houses being broken into, and all the theft and drugs that’s going on. What is going on here with our little community?
I can’t belive that our little community has come to this. And this is not the first time. Why and how did murder, drugs, home invasion, theft, and child abuse become such a part of Blanco County? This has always been the place where you wanted to live and raise your kids, but I’m not too sure of it now. I’m sure a lot of you would still say it is, but maybe you need an eye opener. Why has the crime here become so big?
A lot of people here don’t even know there is a problem of drugs, theft, home invasion, child abuse and murder in this community. But let me assure you, there is. The drugs here are getting worse each day. Our kids are tested each and everyday. How did it get here? It only takes one to spark an epidemic. And why? We as a community have let it happen. We are always turning our heads.
Is it because you just don’t care what is going on around you; as long as you are not involved in anything you don’t have to worry? We are all vulnerable, no matter if we are involved with things or not. It all affect our lives. I know it could be a lot worse to where you couldn’t even walk down the street without encountering a thug, but who wants it to get that far? Is it because we don’t watch our kid enough to see what they are doing or who they are with, or what they are up to? Is it because we think it won’t happen to us? Is it because we don’t want to get involved? Is it our problem to worry about what is going on here? Yes it is! Have we laid back too much? Do we not pay attention anymore?
I think we the people of Blanco County should step back and look at what is going on and see if there is something we could do to help fix it.
There was a time I would never have locked my doors nor worried about anyone coming in my house and stealing all I had. But I worry now. Is it because of our law enforcement isn’t doing there job? I think they do what they can. But they can’t do it all by themselves. They need the help of the DA to prosecute to the fullist, they need the help of the judges, to sentence them to the fullest and they need the help of the community. We as a community should step up to help our law enforcement when they need it. Assist in anyway we can.
I can recall an article in the paper months ago about a drug deal in front of the bowling club and thank god there was someone to step up and try to protect our community. There needs to be a lot more of that. Was he worried about the thugs coming back to do something to him and his family? I’m sure he was but at least he made a stand. He did what he thought was best for this community. Who wants that kind of stuff going on around them? He didn’t and I don’t either. We have to protect our community and make sure it is safe for our kids, grand kids and families.
Some may think its not that bad here and others may not even known but I a sure you we don’t want it to get any worse!
We had [someone] living next to us using drugs and having drinking parties and girls there all the time. And yes we did everything we could to get him out. We no longer have all the traffic coming in and out and no more loud parties. We shouldn’t have to live with people like that around. I was afraid for my grand kids and the kids that lived in our subdivision.
We always hear about keeping blanco beautiful, trash day, courthouse renovation, that’s all well and said but if we don’t get this problem under control it won’t make no difference how beautiful our town is or how nice and friendly the people are we will all suffer from it. No one is safe from it.
We need to step up and do what we can to stop the invasion of the trash, thugs and gangs out there and take back our community. It will be worth it! We have a wonderful community here, loving families, and good hard working people, and it should stay that way.
I know that its like this every where you go but I’m not worried about other places, I’m worried about Blanco County, Blanco, Texas
And my heart goes out to the Noah family and friends and you are all in our prayers.
