There's some movies that come out that you just have to go see, whether it's the billion dollars it made at the box office and you want to see what all the fuss is about, or you just like movies that push technology to the limits. Avatar is definitely one of those movies.

Avatar is worth seeing in any format, but if you have access to a PS3 or, like us who have purchased a blu-ray player since they've come down to a little over a hundred, watching it in high definition is the only way to experience the blue people in Avatar and their colorful world. Settle in for awhile when you start this epic adventure of greed and determination because it will set you back well over two hours. Taking a popcorn break after the first hour seemed to work for us.

The colors and CGI are just remarkable in Avatar and it's a fun movie to get lost in and go with. Some might have trouble playing it in blu-ray due to the movie using the latest in blu-ray technology; some players might need the most recent update for their players. This can be done by hooking internet up to your player or getting a disc from the manufacturer (check your manual).

Avatar gets 3 1/2 groundbreaking paws.
