The Blanco Panther baseball team will face the Stockdale Brahmas this Friday in the first game of their bi-district playoff series at 7:00pm at Texas State University. The second game will be Saturday at 1:00pm with a third game, if necessary, to follow. The Panthers defeated Stockdale earlier this year via a tie breaker in the Blanco Baseball Tournament. The Brahmas come into the game after defeating Karnes City this past Friday to take the third play-off spot out of District 28-AA. Overall, the Brahmas are 12 and 10 with a district record of 6 and 4.
After completing district play over a week ago, the Panthers have since picked up two more victories to improve to 20 and 9 on the year. Blanco’s 19th win came in their final home game of the season against the Harper Longhorns. Blanco scored in every inning and use an eight run fifth to end the game early, claiming a 16 to 5 win. Offensively, Ethan Evans closed out the game with a walk-off homerun and joined Clint Dreyer and Kaleb Specht with two hits for the night. On the mound, Keaton Dodd and Sam Isenberg combined to limit the Horns to just five hits while stranding seven base runners.
On Monday, Blanco traveled to Mason to take on the Punchers. Grady Childress, Keaton Dodd and Sam Isenberg held the Punchers to just six runs, while the Panther offense totaled 16 hits and 17 runs on the night as Blanco coasted to their 20th win of the year.
