Relay For Life of Blanco County Raises Close to $30,000
Wednesday, May 5, 2010 • Posted May 4, 2010

(Johnson City, TX) Walkers from Blanco County and surrounding cities joined together on April 24 – 25, 2010, to help fight cancer, honored those who have passed on, and recognized all survivors during the Luminaries Ceremony. These walkers also took the challenge of raising funds to help those with cancer in celebrating “More Birthdays.”

This year’s fundraising efforts grossed approximately $30,000. This success is credited to the many teams who joined together in raising funds and to those who participated in Relay. In addition, this event could have not been possible without the support of our sponsors. We would like to say, “Thank you to our sponsors!” If you would still like to make a donation to this year’s Relay for Life of Blanco County, you can go online at http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=24006&pg=entry and make a donation.

A special invitation is extended to all team captains and team participants to join us on May 12, 2010 (Wednesday), 7:00pm, at the PEC Headquarters Auditorium in Johnson City for a Relay Wrap-Up Party. Bring your favorite dish or dessert. Special recognitions will also be awarded at the wrap up party.

The wrap-up party will also be an opportunity for teams to sign up for the 2011 event and for anyone interested in joining a committee. Next year’s Relay will be held in Blanco, TX.
