The Blanco Panther Band traveled to Corpus Christi on Friday, May 7, to compete in the Buccaneer Days Music Festival held at the new state-of-the-art performing arts complex at Corpus Christi A & M University.

The Buccaneer Days Music Festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious music festivals held annually since 1957. This festival is considered to be the most challenging and demanding as the music adjudication standards are at the highest level.

The Panther Band presented their spring concert competition program and the adjudicators awarded their highest award, the superior performance award, to the Panther Band. The judges all remarked about the enjoyable music performed by the Panther Band and congratulated them on their overall performance.

Congratulations to the excellent students of the Panther Band on another milestone achievement that caps off a tremendously successful year.

The bands of Blanco Middle School and Elementary School will also compete at Texas Lutheran Univeristy’s Kappa Kappa Psi Band Festival held this week at Jackson Auditorium at TLU in Seguin on May 13 and 14.

Blanco High School, Blanco Middle School, and Blanco Elementary School will present their annual spring band concert in the auditorium at the elementary campus on Tuesday, May 25, beginning at 7:00 p.m. that evening. All are invited and the program is free of charge. Please plan to hear the remarkable students of Blanco performing their music on May 25.
