A young boy was asked what he thought about a recent wedding he had attended. He said, "I think sixteen wives is too many!" He was asked, "How did you come up with sixteen?" The boy said, "I heard the preacher say 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer and 4 poorer."

Jesus said, "Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it at all" (Luke 18:16-17). It is enjoyable to see the interest and excitement of children in learning about God. They love to hear the Old Testament stories of Noah, Moses, Joshua and Gideon and many others. They eagerly learn, through song and teaching, the events that make up the life of Jesus.

We are taught that "faith comes through hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ" (Romans 10:17). Let the children come and hear the greatest story ever told. Let faith grow and develop in good and fertile soil. It is said of Timothy that from his childhood he knew the sacred writings which are able to make one wise unto salvation which is in Christ Jesus (II Timothy 3:15). The wise man builds his house upon the Rock.
