A city fellow went to a dude ranch for the weekend and decided to go horseback riding. When he attempted to put the saddle on the horse, the cowboy said, "not so fast, your putting the saddle on backwards." The fellow said, how do you know? You don't know which way I want to go!"

God invites us to rejoice in His love. In I John 4:8 we read that God is love. He has demonstrated His love toward us in that while we were yet in our sins God sent His Son to provide the way to heaven. We need to reaffirm this truth of scripture continually within our lives. This should lead us to love God and to love others. "Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another" (I John 4:11).

God invites us to rejoice in His light. In John 1: 5 we read that God is light. Darkness is often used in scripture to represent a lack of understanding or unrighteousness. These things hold a power over us that can only be broken by God's revelation of truth. The apostle Paul said, "He [God] has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love" (Colossians 1:13).

God invites us to rejoice in abundant life. Jesus said, "...I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly..." (John 10:10). The ultimate sacrifice for our sins gives us a living hope over death and the grave. Victory can be ours in Christ Jesus. In Christ Jesus one no longer looks at life in the same way. Instead of a endless maze full of dead end turns it becomes a journey of love, light and life. God has shown us the way to go.
