I had very little hope of "really" enjoying this movie. I had heard a lot of people say that they had enjoyed it, but I was still very skeptical; it just didn't seem like my type of movie.

The movie is based on part of Julia Child’s life and the life of Julie Powell (Amy Adams), a frustrated New Yorker who wants to be a writer but is stuck at her insurance job. At an attempt to change Julie's very boring lifestyle, her husband suggests that she start blogging. After much thought she decides to go through Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking in one year, cooking every recipe in the book. We learn that Julia Child (Meryl Streep) doesn't actually start cooking until much later in life (I didn't know that). After many failed attempts at trying to stay busy while her husband Paul (Stanley Tucci) works, Julia finally finds her passion at a French cooking school.

Meryl Streep does an amazing job of portraying Julia Child. She comes off as humorous and haphazard in the kitchen and shows that she had a huge passion for life. The story intertwines by following both people. I enjoyed and laughed so much at this movie, I actually wanted to watch it again the following night.

Keith, being the sweet hubby he is, actually ordered Julia Child's cookbook for me. Can't wait to try and master the art of French cooking! 4 paws!
