Hill Country CattleWomen Host Annual Scholarship Fund Raiser
Wednesday, May 7, 2008 • Posted May 6, 2008

The Hill Country CattleWomen, representing 14 Hill Country counties, hosted their annual scholarship fund raising luncheon and style show at the Inn of The Hills in Kerrville, Texas on Tuesday, April 15th.

A raffle, silent auction, and a live auction were all a part of this fundraising event. Scholarships are given to college-level juniors or above, including graduate students, who maintain a 3.0 GPA. Students from Blanco County have been fortunate to receive a few of these scholarships in recent years.

However, more students are encouraged to apply from the Blanco, Johnson City and rural areas of Blanco County.

Many local businesses and individuals throughout the 14-county area donated items or money to this event. The following businesses in Blanco County and nearby San Antonio area helped support the fund raiser this year:

Holt Oaks Ranch in Blanco, Main Street Boutique in Johnson City, and HEB, Frost Bank, Super S Foods and The Wash Tub Car Wash in the outlying areas.

The Deadline for applying for these scholarships this year is June 1st.

Please contact Sandy Kuykendall at sandykuykendall@yahoo.com or at P.O. Box 68, Cherokee, Texas 76832. Two or more scholarships will be awarded to either an agricultural or dietary nutrition-related major. Additional scholarships are open to any other major.
