The Board of Trustees of Mason ISD is pleased to introduce John Schumacher to the community of Mason. Mr. Schumacher was recently named the lone finalist for the position of Superintendent of Schools and comes to Mason with many years of experience.
For the past two years, he served as Assistant Superintendent of Johnson City ISD. While in Johnson City, he oversaw finance, human resources and daily operations of the district. Prior to that he served as principal in Marble Falls. Throughout his 32- year career in the educational system he has been an educator, coach, athletic director and principal at the elementary, junior high and high school levels.
Mr. Schumacher earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming, his Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Montana State University, and his Superintendent Certification from Texas Tech University.
John and his wife, Kathy, have four children and six grandchildren. John is a very relationship oriented individual and describes himself as a servant-leader. He believes open communication and transparency are critical to building the trust that is necessary for a thriving local school system. John brings to the position an optimistic outlook and a proven track record of successful leadership at all levels.
He looks forward to becoming a part of the community, getting to know the citizens of Mason and serving the Mason school district for years to come. John is scheduled to begin full time on May 19 and will be working with retiring superintendent Pam Kruse to achieve a smooth transition.
