Wednesday, July 7, 2010 • Posted July 6, 2010

Chris Kopacz of Spring Branch was named Artist of the Month for the Tejas Art Club.

Kopacz began attending classes at the Uptown Blanco Art Center in April of this year, but has been creating art in other mediums for years.

For sixteen years, Kopacz created artful acrylic nails. She also has spent the last couple of years combining different natural resources, such as stones and wood to create unique pieces. When she began to take classes at Uptown Blanco, the artist was able to realize her potential. “Painting ahs ecome a passion for me. To be honest, I did not know I had it in me.”

Kopacz has progressed quickly and is currently using acrylic and oils to create her visions. She plans to begin working with pastels as well.

Although her work is not in galleries yet, she plans to begin looking at her options. She also aspires to attend art classes at Texas State to further improve her technique and earn an art degree.

She is also an active member of the Tejas Art Club.
