AIC Travis Fojtasek has been in the Air Force for over 2 years. His job is Aircraft Structural Maintenance. He has been at Ali Al Salem AB in Afghanistan since mid-January 2008. He was awarded airman of the month for February for saving the airforce thousands of dollars by performing and repairing major structural repairs on C-130 aircraft.

Repairs include AFT bulkhead repairs, three different repairs on gusset butterfly fittings, LE splice tee repair, and several other repairs, working several 15-hour shifts and doing whatever it took to complete the mission. In addition he also received the GWOT (Global War on Terror) medal.

He is due back to Blanco some time in July. His proud parents are Bill & Dianne Fojtasek of Blanco.
