Dear Editor,

The campaign sign I put in my yard supporting Bill White for Governor was removed and replaced with two Perry signs Tuesday morning.

I am especially disappointed because I taught Bill at Churchill High School in San Antonio and know him to be a decent, intelligent, compassionate man.

I thought I had a right to support him with a sign on my property, but the Perry people, it seems, disagree. I am sorry they have to stoop to such tactics to try to further their candidate’s chances.

I intend to ask the campaign for another yard sign (and maybe a few replacements in case of further vandalism). I am hoping I will be allowed to continue to support my former student without resistance from Perry’s campaign.
