Kendalia Extension Association Meets
Wednesday, August 18, 2010 • Posted August 17, 2010

The Kendalia Extension Association met at the home of Lanette Edmondson Thursday afternoon. Co-hostess was Maggie Winborn. Wonderful refreshments were served prior to the meeting. Thirteen members and two guests, Kirsten Thomson and Rachelle Jonas, were in attendance.

Dues for the coming year were collected. The county Christmas Party will be held in Kendalia on December 3. Some of the programs planned for next year are bread making, picture pillows, and plans to have a master gardener instruct the group on container gardening and grafting.

The program “Everything Organic” was led by Angela Fiedler. Products can be labeled “organic” if it is only 95% organic. A taste test was made of organic strawberries and organic milk. The organic milk was picked as the better tasting, but the strawberries were not. Angela stressed it is important to eat fruits and vegetables whether they are organic or not.

The next meeting will be September 9 at the Kendalia Community Center. Furniture refinishing will be the program.
