Minnie Paula Hoffmann Gass

Minnie Paula Hoffmann Gass of Spring Branch, Texas passed away on August 18, 2010 in the Eden Hill in New Braunfels. She was born September 10, 1915 in San Antonio to Levine G. and Paula Classen Hoffmann. She was 94, lacking 23 days being 95 years of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Frederick Gass and her sister, Johanna Catherine Reeh. She is survived by her daughters, Arlene Minette Rogers and husband Donald of Marble Falls, Texas, Ruth Marie Wadsworth of San Antonio and June Peggy Mitchell of Bulverde; son, Willard William Gass and wife Roslyn of Paige, Texas; sister-in-law, Nola Gass of New Braunfels; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Minnie and Marvin married October 12, 1935 at the First Protestant Church in New Braunfels where they were life members. They lived on their ranch north of Spring Branch where they raised Angora Goats, Sheep and Hereford Cattle. Minnie was a member of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile and also the Farm Bureau. Minnie attended the New Braunfels High School and then worked as a cashier for Eiband and Fischer Department Store in downtown New Braunfels before marrying Marvin.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon Sunday at the Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels and the family will be present from 4-6 p.m. to greet friends. Funeral services will be Monday, August 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Zoeller Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be given to the American Heart Assn., The American Cancer Society or the First Protestant Church.
