House Fire Leaves Man Homeless
Wednesday, August 25, 2010 • Posted August 24, 2010

On Saturday, August 21, fire quickly burned Russell Lane’s home to the ground.

Firefighters responded to a report of fire at 196 Dry Creek Run around 4pm on Sunday. Within twenty minutes, the house was engulfed in flames and despite the diligent work of local firefighters from Blanco, Stonewall and Johnson City Volunteer Fire Departments, the home was completely lost.

Russell Lane was in his residence when it caught fire, but was able to escape without injury. He did, however, lose all of his possessions. His nephew, Richard Miller, also lived with him but was not hurt in the blaze.

For now, Mr. Lane and Mr. Miller are staying with Charles Miller, Lane’s nephew and Miller’s brother.

An account has been set up at Blanco National Bank to assist Lane as he moves forward from this tragedy.

Donations can be made at Blanco National Bank to the Russell Lane Fire Fund.
