Members of the Blanco FFA Chapter recently took part in the first annual Race Day Classic Steer Show in Fredericksburg, along with the annual Jackpot Lamb Show. Both shows are held in conjunction with the Gillespie County Fair.

In the steer show, over 130 steers competed in 16 breed divisions. Jr. FFA member Kolby Marek exhibited the Reserve Champion Brangus, while senior FFA member Kylie Leachman won reserve champion honors with her Red Angus. Kelton Marek also did well, placing 3rd with his ABC steer.

Dalton Savanich represented the local FFA chapter in the lamb show, winning 1st place with his medium wool, while also placing in the top 5 with several other lambs.
