I would like to commend the Gosnells’ letter to the editor from last week. Their letter spoke for me and according to at least a dozen people in my travels around town, for many others here. Free enterprise does not mean that we have to sacrifice our unique quality of life in Blanco. We do not have to say yes to arbitrary development when we mean or want to say no. That is why we have rules to follow. If we give everything away which makes Blanco interesting to people, then we become McBlanco, just another sign blip in a highway corridor in Anywhere, USA. It is, in fact, our regional charm and beautiful landscapes which inspires people to stop and visit. Protecting Blanco matters.
