Tire Blowout Knocks Out Two Cars
Wednesday, October 6, 2010 • Posted October 5, 2010

Luckily, no one was injured on Thursday morning, September 30, when two cars driving southbound on US Highway 281 collided. Assistant Chief of Police Carl Bragg responded to a call at 9:02 am in front of Uptown Blanco Restaurant. The front passenger tire of a silver Kia Forte in the left southbound lane blew out, causing the car to sideswipe the gold Ford Five Hundred in the right lane.

One man was in the Kia and a man and a woman were in the Ford. All were shaken by the incident but no one sustained any injuries. The Kia vehicle was no longer drivable and the couple opted to get their Ford towed.

The right southbound lane of US Highway 281 was closed for about 45 minutes while information was collected from the drivers.
