Oct. 25 Public Meeting Planned for Design Guidelines Update
Wednesday, October 13, 2010 • Posted October 12, 2010

The Second Public Meeting for Mainstreet Architect Sue Ann Pemberton-Haugh to update citizens on the Design Guideline process for Blanco will be held on October 25, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Blanco Public Library. Ms. Pemberton will present and discuss the first draft of the guidelines with a power point presentation.

The Blanco Comprehensive Master Plan that was approved by the city council in 2005 and the Visionaries in Preservation Plan which is now the Blanco Historic Preservation Action Plan approved in 2007 both had Design and Signage Guidelines as part of the Downtown Revitalization/Historic Preservation tasks. These plans were written for Blanco to help with Growth Management and were intended to protect the heritage of Blanco through preservation of historic buildings and sites throughout the community and utilize Blanco’s heritage to develop tourism and related businesses in the community.

As we continue to move forward to preserve our history and heritage with the Design Guidelines and Streetscape Master Plan, we would like to encourage the citizens who attended all of those meetings and worked so diligently since 2003 to attend the meeting on October 25 and to hear how far your involvement and work have brought Blanco.
