Wednesday, October 13, 2010 • Posted October 12, 2010

Dee Vickery, of Off the Beaten Path Ministries, San Saba, TX, will be ministering with her music and a powerful message Sunday, October 17, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 703 North Main, Blanco, TX, for both worship services, 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Dee Vickery began singing professionally in Houston, TX in 1968. Some of the artists she appeared with were Bud & Bud, the Hooper Twins, Tex Ritter (Cowboy Heaven), Jackie Ward (Blue Diamond), Freddie Hart (Easy Lovin’), Mel Tillis (Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town), and others. She had her own Country Band called Dee Vickery and Western Union. They performed in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Missouri. Later on she traveled with a show band called Tommy Hawk and the Warriors appearing in clubs across the US and Canada.

During that time Dee became heavily involved in drugs, alcohol and the occult. Then in March of 1978 she had an encounter with Jesus Christ that changed her life. “I went down on my knees at that altar one way and came up another!” She was saved, saved!

When her heart changed, so did her music. Her sound is Country but her message is Christ!

Now Dee is a Christian Country Recording Artist, in full-time ministry, traveling wherever the Holy Spirit leads her, sharing her music and her testimony. She is also a conference speaker where she always brings a word in due season to Women’s Retreats and Conferences. God opens doors of ministry for Dee not only in traditional churches, but Cowboy Churches as well.

Her first CD, Hidden Treasures, has been released both nationally and internationally. One of her songs, God Bless America, Again, was chosen by Christian Country Music Association to be on their Patriotic Compilation Disc which was released June 1, 2006 to over 3,000 radio stations nationwide. Her single, Jubilee Has Started, was released in August 2008 by Country Gospel Connection located in Branson, MO. The song was #7 on the Country Gospel Music top 100 Chart, and remained in the top 20 for several months. Dee has been a special guest on The Light of the Southwest, at God’s Learning Channel, a Christian television network where her music and testimony was seen worldwide.

Her latest album, Hungry for Your Touch, recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, is about to be released nationally and internationally, and contains songs such as Unchained Melody, Let Your Love Flow, and other old favorites which have been rewritten to glorify Christ.

As well as being an ordained minister she is the Founder and President of Off the Beaten Path Ministries, Inc., a 501c3 Christ-centered organization that reaches out to families affected by family violence. She has a powerful and effective program of healing for hurting families.

Dee Vickery’s music is anointed and high energy. It’s not uncommon for folks to be healed and saved in her meetings! So come expecting! Vickery can be contacted at 325-372-4347 or on her website:
