Blanco High School FCCLA members had an opportunity to go “Ignite the FCCLA Flame” at a local Fall Leadership Meeting held Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Pflugerville, Texas. Over 300 members and advisors from 15 different school districts attended the workshop held at Austin’s Park ‘n Pizza. Schools participating in the meeting were: Bandera HS, Blanco HS, Giddings HS, Granger HS, Hallettsville HS, Hendrickson HS, Hutto MS, Hutto HS, La Grange HS, Llano HS, Lexington HS, Liberty Hill HS, Marble Falls HS, Nixon-Smiley HS, Taylor HS, Thorndale HS, Thrall HS, and Vista Ridge HS.
The purpose of the Fall Leadership Meeting is to educate and introduce new and returning members to the wide range of FCCLA projects which they can take back and incorporate into their school. It also allows members and advisors to network with each other while having fun.
FCCLA Region and State Officers are responsible for conducting a meeting to reach at least nine local schools. Chelsea San Miguel, Region V Vice President of Programs, was one of nine officers to conduct a session at the workshop. Workshop sessions included: Go for the Gold with Leadership Enhancement Opportunities, Ignite Your Flame with Power of One, Earn Your Medal and Reach for the STARS, 2010 Team FCCLA Membership Search, Parliamentary Procedure for Team FCCLA, Run for a Region V Office and Lead Team FCCLA, and Build Leadership within Team FCCLA.
