Many artists who show in the gallery are from the Hill Country., but some are more internationally known such as Kenneth Wyatt.
The gallery's name, Rain Bird in Native American Legends implys renewal of life in regards to a rain bird announcing rain. Kenneth Wyatt's picture, "Thanks for the Rain" expresses the graditude one has for such a renewal. This is only one of the wholesome cowboy themes the public can see this day.
"Well I knew a cowboy once who regardless of time or place would have dropped to his knees with a word of thanks. Maybe that's the reason it rained in the first place." Kenneth Wyatt
Dr. Wyatt is a retired Methodist preacher who has been painting for fortyyears. In addition to western subjects he paints landscapes, children and portraits. Texans love his vivid work as many of images are Texas themes and landscapes. According to Bobby Edwards, Wyatt's representative, Dr. Wyatt has recently finished a painting commissioned by the University of Texas of a herd of longhorns and their calves called "Texas Cattle."
A thirty foot air-conditioned trailer with stampeding cattle and horses painted on the side will be parked at Rain Bird Gallery on Oct 30th.
