Rain Bird Gallery Tenth Anniversary Hosts Kenneth Wyatt Western & Christian Themed Art Show

Becky Walker celebrates her tenth year as owner of Rain Bird Gallery through an open house and Kenneth Wyatt Art Show on October 30 from 10:00am to 5:30pm. The gallery carries unique gifts, home decor, candles, jewelry, furniture, antiques, pottery, paintings and more. It has been an enduring business for 20 years housed in what used to be a Baptist Church. Many artists who show in the gallery are from the Hill Country., but some are more internationally known such as Kenneth Wyatt.

The gallery's name, Rain Bird in Native American Legends implys renewal of life in regards to a rain bird announcing rain. Kenneth Wyatt's picture, "Thanks for the Rain" expresses the graditude one has for such a renewal. This is only one of the wholesome cowboy themes the public can see this day.

"Well I knew a cowboy once who regardless of time or place would have dropped to his knees with a word of thanks. Maybe that's the reason it rained in the first place." Kenneth Wyatt

Dr. Wyatt is a retired Methodist preacher who has been painting for fortyyears. In addition to western subjects he paints landscapes, children and portraits. Texans love his vivid work as many of images are Texas themes and landscapes. According to Bobby Edwards, Wyatt's representative, Dr. Wyatt has recently finished a painting commissioned by the University of Texas of a herd of longhorns and their calves called "Texas Cattle."

A thirty foot air-conditioned trailer with stampeding cattle and horses painted on the side will be parked at Rain Bird Gallery on Oct 30th. The inside will be brimming with breathtaking original paintings, giclees and prints of the West Texas artist. The exhibition will also include books, crosses and sculptures from Kenneth Wyatt. Bobby Edwards will be on hand to personally show the work.

The owner, Becky Walker says Rain Bird Gallery carries Kenneth Wyatt's work on an ongoing basis. She is especially excited about having his representative here to share even more of his work and help celebrate the 10th anniversary. Refreshments will be served.
