Blanco Woman’s Club’s Year Begins
Wednesday, October 27, 2010 • Posted October 26, 2010

The Blanco Woman’s Club had its first meeting of the 2010-2011 year on October 13, 2010, at the home of Connie and Stan Barron, which was decorated delightfully with a fall theme.

There was old business and new business, the newest and best business being the Blanco Woman’s Club cookbook, “Cooking in Style.” Recipes from many, if not all, the ladies of the club are included and is well worth the cost, which is only $12.00. The cookbooks can be bought at various spots around town and from the Woman’s Club ladies themselves.

Four new members were selected, after having been to their two required meetings: Ruth Holleman, Marcy Westcott, Crystal Spybuck, and Pat Vallone. Welcome, ladies!

After having heard the reports from the various committee chairs, we spent a lovely (really!) hour being instructed in the ways of bringing a bill to fruition and into policy by Connie Barron, a former lobbyist. Handouts were given and information shared.

After the program, the meeting was adjourned by president Kathee Copeland and we headed to the refreshments table, adorned with a centerpiece of chrysanthemums and laden with delectable goodies, including cookies in fall leaf shapes, carrot cake, fruit, cheesecake bites, green olives with cream cheese, and nuts, served by our hostesses Connie Barron, Nell Krueger, Millie Jones, and Mary Nabers. Truly, a good time was had by all!
