FFA State Bound

For the sixteenth consecutive year, the Blanco FFA will be advancing to compete in the State FFA Land and Range Judging Contests at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. These contests are held each year in April, with the top five teams in each event advancing to compete at the National Contests in Oklahoma City.

The land team completed a strong fall schedule winning first at two events, while placing 2nd at two and then 3rd at area. Team members included: Lauren Winn, Monica Flores, Lindsey Winn, Joanna Delavan, Erica Flores, Elise Edmondson, Britton Wagner, Colton Childress, Mackenzie Johnson, Skylar Itz, Megan Andrews, Ian Ray, Byron Mabry, Morgan Lowak, Will Byler, and Tim Goodman.

Blanco’s range judging team took home three 1st place awards and two 2nd place finishes, one of which was at area. Team members included: Alex Gustafson, Kylie Leachman, Mindy Dechert, Payton Duvall, Grady Childress, Maggie Dennis, Tyler Noah, Katelyn Bradfute, TJ Raby, Matt Pepper, Taylor Hartmann, Clint Dreyer, Chelsea Fuller, and Cody Perez.

Finally, the plant identification team completed a perfect fall schedule by winning 1st place at all competitions. Team members are: Sam Isenberg, Grant Weaver, Kellam Nabers, Ed Alvarado, James Leachman, Chandler Ashley, Callie Culton, Ryan Wagner, Ethan Evans, Tyler Hardin, Travis McClinton, Kali Kimbro, Susannah Campbell, Shea Mangold, Brooks Lane, and Kevin Vizcaino.

Advisors for the Blanco FFA are Felice and Jason Marek.
