Public records information is compiled by Charles Willgren from reports filed at the Blanco Police Department, Blanco County Sheriff’s Office, Blanco Volunteer Fire Department, Blanco County Clerk, District Clerk, and Justices of the Peace offices.

Blanco Police Reports

These reports were filed between May 15 and May 21.

May 15

• Loose Livestock. 2:07 AM. Five horses and a donkey were loose on Greenlawn. An officer put the animals back into the pens.

• A subject was seen stumbling down RR 1623/4th St. An officer could not locate the individual.. 7:35 AM.

• Suspicious Person. 3:35 PM. A subject was at a residence when the caller got home and had been told several times to leave. An officer issued a verbal trespass warning.

• Loud Music. 4:00 PM. A car stereo was blasting music on Hackberry St.

• Civil Matter. 7:57 PM. A caller requested an officer to speak to about a civil matter.

• Trespass. 8:20 PM. A subject who had been served with a trespass warning was reported back on the property. A criminal trespass warning was issued.

May 16

• Reckless Driving. 3:14 PM. US 281 at Little Blanco.

• Animal Complaint. 4:37 PM. A dead possum was reported; the caller thought the animal might have had rabies.

• Reckless Driver. 7:53 PM. A vehicle made a turn without signaling and almost caused a wreck with the caller. An officer spoke with the individuals about the incident.

May 17

• Unattended Death. 1:17 PM.

• Property Damage / Information. 6:45 PM. A report was filed on a fence that was cut.

• Disturbance. 10:05 PM. An assault was reported at Riverside Bar & Grill.

• Disturbance. 10:45 PM. Verbal disturbance at Blanco General.

May 18

• Disturbance / Arrest. 2:36 AM. An intoxicated, armed subject was acting violently and pushed down an individual. The subject was arrested.

• Animal Complaint. 10:23 AM. Two dogs were left near the Lutheran Church. An officer attempted to locate the owners.

• Animal Complaint. 7:55 PM. A dog kept attacking rabbits and was taken to the veterinarian by the responding officer.

May 19

• Animal Complaint. 11:38 AM. A dog was in the Blanco Ice House parking lot. The owner recovered the dog.

May 21

• Reckless Driver. 3:45 PM. A vehicle at a high rate of speed on US 281 was all over the road. An officer reported that there was no offense.

Blanco County Sheriff’s Office Reports

These reports were filed between May 15 and May 21.

May 15

• Road Hazard. 2:25 AM. A large tree limb fell across the Johnson City Bank drive-thru.

• 911 Call. 3:57 AM. Weather caused a false 911 call and hang-up. An officer checked with the owner of the phone.

• Road Hazard. 6:50 AM. A downed tree limb was reported on RR 2766, blocking part of the curve in the westbound lane. TxDOT was notified.

• Loose Livestock. 8:56 AM. A black cow was walking down the highway on RR 1323 at Sandy Road.

• Noise Complaint. 10:00 AM. Two F-16s were flying low and fast over a ranch, scaring the animals. Aviation contact numbers were given.

• Information. 12:50 PM. A calf was hit by a vehicle and the caller had pieces of the vehicle.

• Theft. 2:10 PM. Property was stolen from a building site.

• Traffic Hazard. 2:47 PM. A huge piece of sheet metal was on US 290 West.

• Loose Livestock. 3:14 PM. A cow was on the side of RR 2766.

• Identity Theft. 3:30 PM. A caller’s identity was stolen; three credit cards were taken out in the caller’s name, and a house and vehicle were purchased.

• Civil Standby. 7:05 PM. A caller requested an officer to standby.

• Verbal Dispute. 7:18 PM. A subject was giving the caller problems. AN officer was requested.

• Welfare Check. 11:23 PM. A caller hit a deer on US 290 West. An accident report was taken.

May 16

• Inmate Transfer. 9:52 AM. One subject taken to the doctor.

• Inmate Transfer. 11:07 AM. One subject taken to the doctor.

• Citizen Assist. 12:35 PM. A snake was inside a toolbox. An officer retrieved the snake.

May 17

• Animal Complaint. 4:38 AM. Two dogs were barking nearby. An officer stated that the owner would take care of them.

• Criminal Mischief. 8:50 AM. Trash cans were reported all over RR 1323. IESI would have to replace the damaged cans. A mailbox was also found to be damaged.

• Abandoned Vehicle. 9:50 AM. A vehicle on the side of RR 1320, without a hood and a broken mirror, was towed.

• Abandoned Vehicle. 10:10 AM. A vehicle was expired inspection was reported on US 290 West. A wrecker towed it.

• Smoke Investigation. 2:28 PM. Flames were seen above the trees on US 281 at McCall Creek Rd. The caller was unsure if it was a controlled burn. A second 911 caller stated that the burn was controlled but very large.

• Gas Drive Off. 5:16 PM. An elderly individual forgot to pay for gas and drove off.

• Motorist Assist. 6:22 PM. A caller ran out of gas on US 290 East. An officer took the caller to Friday’s General Store.

May 18

• Agency Assist / Suicide Attempt. 12:13 AM. A subject made comments about a suicide (with Blanco PD).

• Verbal Threat. 11:00 AM. After an altercation between two subjects, one subject threatened to kill the other. An officer reported that no offense had been committed.

• Motorist Assist. 1:30 PM. US 281.

• Hit and Run. 1:37 PM. Incident reported on US 290 West.

• Reckless Driver. 10:57 PM. A Comal County officer had a possibly intoxicated driver pulled over on US 281, just north of 473. The subject was arrested (with Texas DPS).

May 19

• Lost Property. 8:50 AM. A caller in Comal County was directed to call that county.

• Suspicious Circumstances. 9:26 AM. A small child was seen walking alone down the street. An officer returned the child to its parent.

• Inmate Transfer. 11:10 AM. A subject was arrested on a warrant out of Hays County. An officer transported the inmate to the county line to meet a Hays County officer.

• Grass Fire. 12:22 PM. A grass fire was threatening a structure on Hidden Valley Rd.

• Escort. 10:18 PM. An escort was provided for a house being moved on US 290 West to Fredericksburg.

May 20

• Prisoner Transfer. 8:11 AM. Inmate transported back to TDCJ.

• Welfare Concern. 10:42 AM. Child Protective Services call.

• Welfare Concern. 2:40 PM. An officer was requested to check on children.

May 21

• 911 Disconnect. 7:14 AM. A caller stated that a subject was calling 911 and claiming she was harassing him. The subject claimed that he had information, the caller said. An officer stated that the call was unfounded.

• Animal Complaint / Citizen Assist. 8:05 AM. A deer was down on Rolling Hills Rd. and an officer was needed to help. The deer was put down.

• Security Check. 10:47 AM.

• Unattended Death. 10:49 AM.

• Assault. 11:20 AM. An assault by a juvenile reported.

• Snake in the House. 9:12 PM. A rattlesnake was in the caller’s house and an officer was needed. The snake was removed by the responding officers.

• Arrest on View. 10:32 AM. One subject arrested for intoxicated driving on US 281.
