Doris McMain Fisher

Doris McMain Fisher of San Antonio went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, October 25, 2007. Born in Kentucky, she moved to Texas in 1946 where she met and married the love of her life, J.P. Fisher, Jr. Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, who passed on March 10, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy McMain, and is survived by her sisters Geneva Stone and Kathryn Earley. She is also survived by her son Jim Fisher; daughters Sandra Smith and Stephanie Branscum; grandchildren Heather Knell, J Cat Fisher, BJ. Smith, Hally Fisher, Alyxandria Paslay and Creed Fisher, and many loving extended family and friends. Doris was a loyal and devoted companion to her husband, supporting him in business while also enjoying leisure time at their family ranch in Blanco, Texas. She delighted in teaching Sunday school at Manor Baptist Church where she was also a member. Her hobbies included league bowling and ceramics. She was a member of The San Antonio Garden Club for many years. During her life, Doris (Dot, Momma, Nana) displayed authentic hospitality, integrity, and prevailing generosity. She leaves behind priceless memories and a legacy of selflessness. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 28 at Sunset Funeral Home from 2-4pm. A remembrance service wwas held on Monday, October 29 at 3pm followed by entombment at Sunset Memorial Park.
