Summer Classes start at the Blanco Library
Wednesday, May 28, 2008 • Posted May 27, 2008

Summer acting classes are starting June 11th at the library. There will be two classes: 5-9 year olds will be from 2-3pm, and 10-16 year olds from 3:30-4:30pm, meeting every Wednesday for eight weeks ending July 30th. The younger group will be creating their own story about a monster or monsters. We’ll have fun with theatre games and learning about theatre.

The older group will be working on scenes from the classic literature, and getting coaching on their acting skills. We will have a joint program at the end of the class to showcase the students’ work. Maggie Goodman is teaching, and thanks the library for hosting the class.

The spring class worked on a play titled The Lake at the End of the World. Students had fun creating their costumes, learning about the ancient Inca culture, and performing. Theatre is entertaining and educational! There’s a small charge for the class and parents can get more info and sign their kids up by calling Maggie at 833-0245.
