Nature Day Camps Offered at the Blanco State Park
Wednesday, May 28, 2008 • Posted May 27, 2008

Wildside Education, in collaboration with the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife and the Blanco State Park, will conduct two week-long day camps during June of 2008. The Ecology Day Camp will be open to children ages 7-10 and will be held June 9-12 from 9 am to 3 pm. A second camp, Nature’s Detectives will be open to children ages 4-6 and will be held June 23-27 from 9 am to 12 pm. The primary purpose of the day camps will be to use interactive discussions, direct observation, and hands-on, fun activities to build awareness and appreciation among children of Nature, important ecological processes, and ways to protect and conserve the natural world.

The camps will be led by an ecologist from Blanco, Barbara Dugelby, who has experience with environmental education for young children, including having designed and conducted two day camps in 2005.

Additional assistance and supervision for this year’s camps will be provided by Blanco State Park’s interpretive ranger, Ms. Mary Alice Partain, as well as two Blanco Teenagers, Alina Aly and Eleanor Kirksey.

For more information and availability, please contact Barbara L. Dugelby, at 830-833-9615 or email her at bdugelby@txwinet.com
