Tots Need Toys
Fifteen Years and Counting!
Wednesday, November 3, 2010 • Posted November 2, 2010

Over fifteen years ago, a group of volunteers saw a need and started the Christmas toy program in Blanco. Their simple mission: to see that every child in Blanco had at least one gift for Christmas.

The program has a new name, Tots Need Toys (TNT), but it still operates on volunteer help and donations. In 2009, through the generosity of the community, gifts were provided for 211 children from 0-12 years old. The economy has made the need even greater this year so, more than ever, the success of TNT depends on the generous support of the residents and businesses to meet the 2010 goal.

New, unwrapped toys may be placed in the red-striped boxes you will find in various businesses and churches in town or, if you wish to make a tax-deductible monetary donation, you may take it or mail it to Blanco United Methodist Church, 61 Pecan Street, P.O. Box 339, Blanco, Texas 78606.

The 2010 Toys Need Toys distribution day is Saturday, December 11, from 12 noon until 4:00pm at the Blanco United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall on the corner of First and Main Streets in Blanco.

The parent or legal guardian of each child may select the gifts. That person will need to bring a current utility bill or driver’s license for proof of residency within Blanco ISD.

To volunteer or assist with TNT or for answers to any questions, please contact Blanco United Methodist Church at 833-5030.
