Wednesday, November 3, 2010 • Posted November 2, 2010

Congressman Lamar Smith was in Blanco County on Thursday, October 28, to meet with constituents and local officials. He held meetings with Blanco Mayor Chuck Homan, Blanco County Judge Bill Guthrie, Johnson City Mayor Ralph Moss and Johnson City Police Chief Randy Holland.

Smith also had the opportunity to visit and take questions from constituents at the Old Blanco County Courthouse. He discussed health care, taxes, border security and energy.

I had very productive meetings today with local officials in Blanco County,” Congressman Smith said. “We discussed the county’s priorities and what I can do to help support them at the federal level. I enjoyed meeting with constituents in Blanco County to talk about the issues of the day and address their questions and concerns. Washington could use a lot more of the common-sense ideas I heard from them today.
