PEC Employees Donate $290,000 To Area Charities
Wednesday, May 28, 2008 • Posted May 27, 2008

This year Pedernales Electric employees and PEC are contributing $290,000 to civic and charitable organizations through PEC’s United Charities program. The contributions, which benefit more than 300 qualified charities, come from volunteer employee payroll deductions and corporate-matched funds approved by the Board. Organizations receiving donations include libraries, churches, health and education programs, family and youth programs, animal services, volunteer fire departments and emergency medical services.

“The United Charities program is driven by our employees’ personal commitment and corporate dedication to our communities,” said PEC General Counsel Kimberly Paffe. “It’s a privilege to support the communities in Central Texas in this personal way.”

Organizations in the Johnson City area received donations on May 22, 2008, at PEC’s headquarters building. An organization must meet applicable 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) provisions of the Internal Revenue Code to receive United Charities funds. For more information about PEC’s United Charities program, contact any Pedernales Electric office or call toll-free, 1-888-554-4732.
