Marine Visits with Mrs. Miller's Second Grade Class
Wednesday, May 28, 2008 • Posted May 27, 2008

Corporal Joshua Margolies of the United States Marine Corp visited Mrs. Miller’s second grade class on May 23. Bethany Margolies, Joshua’s wife, is the granddaughter of the late David and Patricia Granberg. Will Granberg, a member of the class, is the son of Paul and Lisa Granberg. Diamond, a member of the class, is the granddaughter of Severn and Pam Granberg.

Mrs. Miller’s class wrote letters to Corporal Margolies in November of 2007 while he was deployed to Iraq. When he returned to the states in April of 2008, he wished to visit the class that wrote wonderful and thoughtful letters of encouragement. The letters made clear to him the reasons he chose to serve in the Marine Corps.

He brought with him a backpack, helmet, goggles, shirt, hat, and scarf that he had used in Iraq. Each class member was eager to try on the equipment. Corporal Margolies also briefly discussed his experiences during what was his third deployment to Iraq.

“I think the class liked the whole entire visit,” said Will Granberg.
