God wants a heart that is on fire for Him. As I type this message, I have a candle burning on my desk in front of me. It is flickering and reminds me of God’s Holy Spirit, and it jumps up tall, stretching, looking for anything that it could devour. It reminds me that God’s fire within us can burn more brightly when we feed it more fuel, and I believe that fuel is His Word.
Jesus told the apostles that everything He taught them, He would bring to remembrance in them. But first we have to be taught. We need to get it in us so His Spirit can bring it to our remembrance as we walk with Him daily, going through our tests and trials.
If you’re not going to a church, I encourage you to find one that professes God’s Son Jesus, as living Lord of our lives, teaching that He came, He died, He arose, and He lives! HE is seated at the right hand of God the Father, and He will come again!
Don’t just believe, receive! Remember, even the devils believe and tremble, but they won’t get into heaven.
James 2:19 "19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."
Jesus told the apostles that some people who believed enough in Him to be able to heal and cast out demons will not get into heaven because they are not obeying God’s commands, and doing the will of His Father.
Jesus said “21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23
Remember, that God says those who seek Him early will find Him. I take that word “early” to mean now, before you die, because after you’re dead you can’t make a decision! I’ve also learned from experience to take that word “early” to mean early in my morning, as the first thing I do, because if I don’t seek Him, my day is miserable.
He said choose life.
God said “19I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
He said He loves us.
Revelation 3:19 “I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.”
He said He will never leave us, and He knows those who love Him. Genesis 28:15
1 John 3:18-24 “18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 19 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. 20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.
21 Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22 And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.
23 And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us. 24 Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.”
