Holidays are approaching, and now is the time to think about making hand-crafted Christmas cards and gifts. Omce DePew will offer new designs and instruction in paper cutting on Thursday, November 8, from 9:00-11:00 am. We will provide everything needed, although if you have small scissors we would appreciate your bringing them. Omce has been practicing this art form for many years and loves to share the technique with others. Reservations are not necessary, but if you have questions, please call 833-5206.

Frances Dickey has been volunteering her creative talents to our center for several months. Each Thursday we have a craft activity and materials available for you to explore your own interests, whether they be related to drawing or painting, stitchery, or working with "found" objects. Frances, who is a local artist and who inspires and encourages creativity in others, leads these arts and crafts activities. This is a perfect time to make something special to give as a holiday gift or to decorate your home. These activities are offered at no cost – and we encourage younger folks in the community to join us.

We are ever thankful for the volunteers who assist in meal service and delivery, as well as helping with our activities at the Blanco Senior Citizens Center. Although we will not be delivering meals on Thanksgiving Day, we will offer a shelf-staple meal to those who receive Meals on Wheels. We invite anyone aged 60 or over to join us at Gem of the Hills for meals on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 am. You will find a warm and friendly family of friends at the Blanco Senior Citizens Center. For more information about any of our activities, please call Charlotte Dorsey at 833-5206.
