Wednesday, November 10, 2010 • Posted November 9, 2010

The Lady Panthers, their coaches and fans made the three hour long drive to Glen Rose last Thursday for the Region I Area volleyball play-off game against the Holliday Lady Eagles. The match was a point-by-point battle with Holliday winning 3-2.

The Panthers dropped a shaky first game, 16-25, but rallied strong in games 2 and 3 with scores of 26-24 and 25-23. The Eagles fought back in the fourth, winning 14-25 and tying the game count at two each. The fifth and final game ended at 13-15.

Setter Tara Tredaway placed outstanding sets to middle blockers Abbey Weaver and Kayla Martinez for hard kills. Outside hitters Justine Cooley, Presley Savarino, and Micaela Klein added striking power from the sides. Alex Gustafson, Lindsey Jenkins, and Leslie McClinton controlled the back line with incredible digs. Teresa Collins, Shelby Staats, and Kelsey Schwind gave support from the bench. The Lady Panthers are coached by Amy Hackebeil, head coach, and Brandi Mumme, assistant coach.
