I would like to share this Thanksgiving thought with the dear folks of Blanco: There is no greater blessing for a mother than to have her children return home and gather around her table. Should there be an empty chair it is a sorrow. May God bless the mothers of this world and comfort them in their children’s absence.
Thank God for the Tea Party and its effects on the November 2 election. My gratitude goes out to all who attended the local T-parties. In order to maintain its identity and update its importance in national politics, I propose we give it a Texas style brand: T-Party®.
The T-Party® is now the dominant force in the House of Representatives so, assuming John Boehner becomes the new Speaker, he will be the leader that the movement has sorely lacked. He can easily become the most powerful man in Washington D.C. by fulfilling the demands of the T-Party® and reaffirming the conservative principles of the Republican Party.
How does he do that in the face of the veto power of Obama?
A presidential veto can be overridden by a vote of two-thirds of the Senate. That means 67 Senators have to join in the override. Mitch McConnell, the new Senate Majority leader, must be as ruthless as LBJ was in that role by targeting enough Democrat Senators for defeat in 2012 if they do not join in a bi-partisan effort to repeal all Obama legislation.
So we go back in John Boehner in the House where the legislation starts. With his majority he can pass simple, one-page repeal bills, which are easy to read, every week, make Obama veto them, and start to build an omnibus bill with each one, which finally includes all the vetoed bills if the Senate override fails. This omnibus bill could be the focal point of the T-Party® in the Presidential election in 2012. As the omnibus bill grows page by page, the T-Party® grows stronger, enabling them to save our country from the catastrophe named Obama...
