FFA Members Win Honors at Texas State University

The Blanco FFA sent 12 members to the Texas State University Invitational Leadership Development Events in San Marcos this past Thursday, where more than 30 schools and over 200 students competed in Creed Speaking and the FFA Quiz Competitions.

The Junior Creed Speaking Event saw Blanco win all three banners as Alley Penshorn placed first overall, followed by Amber Garibay in second, and Kristen Bowman in third. In the Junior Quiz Event, Blanco placed 3rd overall, only 5 points out of first place. Team members included Alley Penshorn, Erica Flores, Rance Dollahite, Monica Flores, Kenny Omo, and Megan Andrews, with Alley and Erica ranking 4th and 8th respectively in overall individual rankings. The Senior Quiz team of Mackenzie Johnson, Joanna Delavan, Payton Duvall, and Callie Culton also did well, tying for 5th overall. In addition, Payton and Callie competed in the Senior Creed Speaking competition, with both placing in the top 10.
