Lady Panthers Split Games with Fredericksburg Billies

The Lady Panthers tipped off their season with a win over the Fredericksburg Billies on November 16. The Panthers played an aggressive, fast-paced game, out-scoring the Billies 52-31.

Junior Justine Cooley paced the Panthers with 20 points. Micaela Klein tossed in 12 points with Abbey Weaver adding 9. Lindsey Jenkins made 5, while Susannah Campbell and Leslie McClinton each added 2 point.

The Junior Varsity girls lost 31-49 in their opener against Fredericksburg. Freshman Deanna Sevilla led the team with 11 points. Abby Wheeler sank 8 points while Natalie Stahmann and Mishelle Calzoncit each added 5. Taylor Guinn contributed 2 points for the Panthers.

On Friday, November 19, the Varsity squad traveled to Fredericksburg for a rematch with the Billies. The outcome was not so positive for the Panthers with the Billies winning, 21-32.

Justine Cooley again led the team with 6 points, followed closely by Micaela Klein and Abbey Weaver with 4 points each. Lindsey Jenkins added 2 points and Kayla Martinez and Felicia Skillman each added a point on free throws.

Before starting their Thanksgiving holiday, the Panthers will face the San Saba Lady Dillos on November 23, after press time.
