Good Samaritan Center “Busting at the Seams”
Wednesday, December 1, 2010 • Posted November 30, 2010

“For many years the Blanco Good Samaritan Center has been following their motto, ‘People helping People,’ by helping the needy people of Blanco County with food, clothing and financial aid,” said David Armstrong, president of the organization. “Funds are generated by a very low-cost thrift shop. This has been accomplished with all volunteers and no paid staff.”

These days, though, the Good Samaritan Center is in desperate need of funds to expand. Demand for its services have increased and the center is reaching out to seek donations.

“Now we have to ask the people of Blanco County for help in return,” Armstrong continued. “As a non-profit corporation, we have to ask for money. We need to expand and have found buildings suitable for our needs, but out of reach financially. If we could get pledges and monetary help, we will know if we can move forward.”

Blanco Good Samaritan Center is taking pledges by phone and by mail. Call 830-833-2575 with your information, or send your donation to P.O. Box 298, Blanco, TX 78606.

If further information is needed, call David Armstrong at 830-336-3693. The center wants to receive contributions by December 31, 2010 so that they will be eligible for deductions on this year’s income tax return.

“Please help us help your neighbor,” Armstrong concluded.
