Have you noticed the prices on popular magazines lately? Many of our favorites are our favorites because they are packed with great information, but they are not inexpensive. If I subscribed to all the magazines I would like to have or bought all the ones that appeal to me on the newsstands, I would have to take out a loan.

Lots of magazines are not available in Blanco, and then there are those wonderful periodicals that I discover by accident on a regular basis.

Well, guess what—the Blanco Library has just started a wonderful “Magazine Swap” program. That’s right! You can bring those editions that you have finished and leave them for someone else to enjoy. While you are there, pick up a copy of some fun magazine you might never have read before.

With the holidays coming soon, now is the time to buy those fabulous holiday editions and know that you can swap them for others that will likely be at the library.

Come and grab one of my copies of Grit Magazine. If you have never read it, you will find all kinds of wonderful articles about farming, ranching, gardening, canning and some delicious recipes.

When you finish the magazine, return it to the library for someone else to enjoy. This is an honor system program so it’s quick and easy. What a great deal! Drop by our library and “check it out.”
