A farmer placed an ad in the local paper that read: "Farmer Jones needs a wife, about 35 years of age, wife must own a new tractor, send picture of the tractor." Beauty is indeed in the eyes of the beholder.
Paul says in Ephesians 1:7 "In Him [Christ] we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace..." Several times in Ephesians chapter one Paul uses the phrase 'in Christ' and then speaks of the treasure that is to be found in the Lord. There are many marvelous places on this earth. Many of them we only read about as we view the pictures that someone else has taken. Every once in a while we are allowed to stand in the place that has captured our imagination, but up to that moment has only been in our dreams, it is then, while standing there that we develop a full appreciation for all that it is.
In Christ there is redemption. In Him there is forgiveness. One can travel the world and stand in many marvelous places and yet never find that which can bring the greatest blessing. Jesus Himself invites all to come saying, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).
Have you come to Christ? Have you heard His words? Have you obeyed the gospel, accepting His invitation? Many places are wonderful places, but none can compare to being in Christ.
