Panthers Hold 3-0 Record After Defeating Armadillos

The Panthers now hold a 3-0 record after defeating the San Saba Armadillos, 47-40, on November 23. The Panthers led 19-9 at the half, stretching that to a 16 point lead at the end of the third quarter. The Armadillos made a late rally in the fourth, but Blanco held on for the win.

Clayton Green led the Panthers with 15 points. Austin Carrola added 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Colton Childress dropped in 8 points and Zach Barnes made 6. Tanner Rogers added 5 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Sam Isenberg scored two.

The Panthers traveled to San Antonio Lutheran on November 30 and results will be available next week. On Thursday, December 2, the team will begin their first round in the Johnson City Tournament tentatively at 1:30pm. The tournament will continue through Saturday.

State Ranked San Saba Tops Lady Panthers

The Lady Panthers were dealt a harsh loss, 19-48, by the San Saba Lady Armadillos on November 23. San Saba entered the match-up ranked 17th in the 2A state basketball polls.

Micaela Klein scored nine points to lead the Panthers. Abbey Weaver, Felicia Skillman, Leslie McClinton, and Susannah Campbell each added two points. Kayla Martinez and Justine Cooley dropped in a free throw each for Blanco.

The girls traveled to San Antonio Lutheran on November 30 and will begin their first round game in the Johnson City Tournament on December 2 at 12 noon. Results from both games will be available next week.
