Dear Editor,

With the holidays having a feeling of rush all the time, its nice to take time out and simply enjoy the "musical gift of Christmas". This past Saturday, I had the joy of hearing the Starlight Symphony as they performed a Christmas Concert at the Blanco High School cafeteria. The turnout was superb with close to 200 in attendance. What was so wonderful about this group of talented musicians was the age range within the band. It went from the young teens who played the large bass fiddle to the talented older musician playing the violin. Their performance was a true gift of beautiful Christmas music that had everyone in the spirit of the season. There was no charge for their performance, but if one chose to, a donation was greatly appreciated.

This group has been coming to Blanco several years now, playing in the Blanco Courthouse to also being in the auditorium at the Blanco ISD Administration building. The ensemble is very large and the stage at the High School cafeteria fit them perfectly. At the end of the performance, the Conductor of the Symphony thanked the group in attendance and assured us they would be coming back to Blanco each year!

For those who missed this group, make your plans for next year. This is a performance that should not be missed!

Thanks to the Starlight Symphony for bringing such a class act to our town!
